What’s something you’re really bad at? Ice skating.

Biggest ick? Sneezing directly into the palm of your hand. Elbows, people!

Do you have a favorite TV show? The Knick

What is your all-time favorite food? Tiramisu

Best thing you’ve eaten? Portuguese egg tart from Lord Stow’s in Macau

What’s your favorite midnight snack? Skyflakes

You have to choose one: eyelashes or eyebrows? Eyebrows. It took all of my teens and 20’s to figure them out but I finally have great, full, timeless eyebrows. Even makeup artists on set have complimented me on it and I’m going to let everyone know it.

What’s the funniest joke you’ve ever heard? How many actors does it take to screw in a lightbulb? 6. 1 to screw in the lightbulb and 5 to ask, “why wasn’t I submitted for that?”

Favorite actor? Nicole Kidman

What’s a movie you could watch every day? The 1996 Whitney Houston produced ABC television movie of Cinderella. It was my first time seeing a Filipino on screen. I hope to meet/work with the prince himself, Paolo Montalban some day! Also, Brandy was the most beautiful princess.

Favorite line you’ve said on stage? “Who would be afraid on’t,/ Knowing to meet such excellent company/ In th’ other world?”

Which celebrity would you choose as a mentor? Jennifer Lopez. I genuinely love her and I’m rooting for Bennifer 2.0

What is your number one goal in life? To live life with integrity and creativity.

If money were no object, what’s the first thing you would buy? Something from Chanel.

Does your family have any big traditions? New Year’s is big for my dad and even if I don’t spend every new year’s with my family, I do a lot of the traditions which include wearing polka dots, having a basket of round fruit, and clanging pots & pans at midnight.

What’s your favorite nickname someone has given you and how did you get it? TFC. My first professional acting job, there were 3 of us who had the name Carina. However, the other 2 spelled their name as ‘Karina’ and were Latina. I happened to be the only Filipino one who spelled it with a C. The Filipino Channel, also known as TFC, is a popular television company in the Philippines and I quickly became The Filipina Carina to distinguish myself from the other 2 -rinas.

What types of books do you like to read? Non-Fiction, particularly any collection of essays by Samantha Irby.

What is the worst song, in your opinion? Party in the USA

What’s your favorite song? Depending on the day, it’s either Misty sung by Ella Fitzgerald or My Funny Valentine sung by Chet Baker.
